  • Have I missed something? Did no one mention beer? Sweet, sweet, hoppy beer! What is possibly better? I work at night so I don't have one or so day like most people. No I get my fill on Friday and Saturday night. And boy do I get my fill!

And now that Eric mentioned it, where are my double stuffed oreos dammit!
  • Shortbread cookies. Glad I am gluten free. Much harder to get. No sweets since the mid of November.

Tucker - we get Shiner Holiday Cheer down here! Dunkelweizen, with peaches. One a night makes the day that much better. Wish you could get it!

  • Cookies, of any type or variety.
Steve, we're related. Me too. At Lake Placid this year, my mom bought some version of Chips Ahoy cookies and they were like crack. I fueled the entire IM on those alone I think. I found some in the cupboard over Thanksgiving. *Homer Simpson gurgle*
  • Beer...I've made a personal commitment to not drink any beer Monday - Wednesday nights so that I sleep better the nights before our midweek workouts. I'd say I'm at about 50%, but now that I've made the commitment public maybe I'll do better.
  • jon, suzanne with you guys on the chocolate chip cookies. started eating them on the run course in lake placid after mile 4 , every 2 miles I need to 2-3 cookies you do the math. On other days it is a good glass of wine and something/anything fried (calamari )
  •  Potato Chips.  Ohhhh, potato chips.  I swear they call out my name when I'm in a grocery store, and I'm almost always good enough to not go down the aisle (because if I buy a bag it's all over.)  But sometimes I decide it's not good to be excessively rigid in life, and I buy a bag.  And they're always just as good as I remember. You'll notice this isn't a sweets or holiday issue - which is kind of good because the holidays don't present a particular problem since I have a salty tooth instead of a sweet tooth - but that also means it's a year round issue.

  • Panettone, Baci chocolate kisses, cheesecake, tiramisu, and beer.  LY, I put on nearly 10 pounds over the holiday season.  Not on the plan this year.

  • Still going strong eating clean!! Join me! Step away from the sweets, alcohol and coffee! You won't believe how amazing you will feel!
  • @Carrie, would you mind posting a sample day of eating clean? I'm inspired by the success you're having. What do you eat for meals/snacks?
  • Hi Beverly,

You asked for a typical day of eating clean for me. I'll write what I ate yesterday and then an option for something else:

    6 am at track- cytomax
8:30 breakfast shake- Arbonne protein powder, flax meal, fiber, strawberries
    water mid morning
    12:30- same shake
    water mid afternoon
5:00- salmon, quinoa with sundried tomatoes and pine nuts, corn
8:00 - apple, almonds, herbal tea with lemon

other choices instead of shakes: breakfast : scrambled eggs wrapped in gluten free brown rice tortilla, orange. Lunch- big spinach salad with veggies, almonds, walnuts, eggs or chicken , olive oil and apple cider vinegar.

  • A peppermint mocha from Starbucks in the red cup.

And...those little tree shaped cookies from the cookie press, made with green food coloring of course....and green sprinkles. image
  •  I'll eat, and drink, almost anything.

    Stayin' Clydesdale,

    Wes
