Had mine done 5 or 6 years ago. No big deal that I remember. Pretty sure it was in on a Friday and then just hang around on the sofa for the weekend. My wife wasn't watching so I guess I must have driven myself home.
It was definitely a family discussion as to the decision but as others have said, three kids is wonderful and enough! Glad to do my part
On the family discussion thing.... I'm not a physician, but if you have to choose between sterilizing the man or the woman, it's a no brainer that the man is the one you do it to, all things being equal. All things were not equal in my household, but that's an entirely different story.

Wait until you are fully recovered and get the "all clear" report from your doc. Then you will get to experience how happy your wife is about having it done.
Best non medical response of this whole thread. And I can vouch for it. I had to buy tighty whities...but was running in about 5 days...cycling in about a week...walked to stay fit and lots of icing da boyz.
