Question on Garmin 305 files

I figured I'd put this here since it deals with pace.   Maybe it's the right place, maybe not..... Anyway, here goes.

I have noticed that when I go to transfer my Garmin 305 files to WKO, I get some spaces in the data.    I know these breaks correspond to times when I hit the Stop button, like when I was waiting for a long light or other reason.    I notice that in the Garmin software it doesn't have these same breaks in the data.

I'm wondering if there is a way to have WKO exclude the breaks in data and just put it all together ?   I guess it's not a huge issues, but it just bugs me that the graphs are not continuous.

Thanks for the help - I hope.....

  •  the breaks correspond to time that you were paused.  If you switch the x-axis to distance, the breaks go away.

  • Yeah, WKO and Garmin don't handle the pauses the same. David's right, though...you can make them go away that way.

If you are using version 2.2, you will want to "record every second" rather than using "Smart Record" (or whatever it is) if you want it to be accurate on the rTSS. The variable data recording isn't handled that great under 2.2. I have read but forgotten the specifics on how this is improved for 3.0. (All Garmin 310 data are recorded in something equivalent to "Smart Record".)
  • Thanks for the input. I'll give it a try. Makes sense on switching the x axis to distance instead of time. Not sure on the other recording interval. I'll need to check on that.
