IMCDA 2011

I just signed up for the 5-day trial. I attended Rich's lecture at IMAZ just a few weeks ago, that's why I'm here.

That being said, here's my situation. I completed IMAZ 2010 in 13:33. It was my 2nd IM (IMCDA 2009 with a finishing time of 15:32). I am registered for IMCDA on June 26, 2010. How the heck would I make the "Outseason" plan work along with the full IMCDA plan prior to my race? There simply doesn't appear to be enough time!

Another question, if I stay, would I have to purchase a full season (or, for that matter OS) plan, or they included in my monthly membership?

Thanks in advance for any advice or wisdom!

  • John,

Welcome to your trial! Please read this blog post, it will give a good idea of how we think of a season and apply our plans to your season.

Whenever possible we like our athletes to do 8-12wks of the OS plan and then transition over to their Ironman plan....but don't worry about that right now. Spend the next 5-days snooping around and deciding if we are a good fit for each other. Taking you from now through IMCDA is the easy part. I've done the race 3x myself have coached hundreds to the event.

  • And no, you don't have to buy any of the plans as a member. Your $99/mo gets you open access to all of our plans.

  • John - Hope you make it a go for EN as I'll be at IMCDA and would be great to have another EN racer join the team....Should be a good crowd....
  • John - Like Rich says, there's a lot of room for personalization & flexibility beyond  standard 20 week/12 week plans. I've done the turn around from IM AZ to IM CDA twice now, and it can work just fine with a shorter OS or, if needed, a shorter IM specific training phase. The point is, the coaches and the team know how to make it work for you.

  • Thanks everyone for the feedback. I really appreciate it. I'll be poking my nose around for the next few days to see what this is all about.
