setting up zones in Training Peaks and Power Agent
Hope you can help... I'm a power noobie and am doing what I can to learn what I need to learn... Got the quarq/joule installed, downloaded WKO+, Training Peaks, and Power Agent. I don't do my first test til Jan, but want to be sure I'm good to go before then.
Do I need to fill in the HR (5 zones), Power (6 zones), and speed (10 zones) in training peaks before my first FTP test? if I don't, will I get accurate test numbers? if so, what numbers do I use?
Similar question for power agent - then have power and HR zones (5 zones per) in the user set up section. I just don't know what numbers to use... my HR numbers are from my last test pre-IM (October) and I've never had power before so I have NO idea.
The only other question I have is abuot the downloads. From what I've gathered, i don't need to download from the device to power agent... but WKO is where I need to be sending my data. What about Training Peaks? Uploading to there (from WKO) is a separate step. Is it worth it? Does it have different displays/more info...
thanks for your helP!

You don't need to input those zones necessarily. You will still gets watts and NP. You won't get IF or TSS which need an FTP but it really isn't that important to have those pre-OS. If you wanted to see those blanks filled in on WKO, just input a random guess FTP, but until you test those numbers will be grossly inacurrate so arguably the data won't mean anything anyway. As for device agent, I haven't used it because I use Garmin 305 for running, but might give it a try next month. I currently open PA, connect my Joule, download ride data, then export it to my desktop. I do the same with my outdoor runs with GTC. I then open WKO, import the data, upload it to TP, then save. For swims and treadmill runs, I just do a manual workout entry under file in WKO. I upload to TP because it provides an easier, at-a-glance, view of of weekly volume for run, bike and swim.
Sounds like a lot of steps but it really doesn't take that long.
