LYC Workout Data Storage?

My computer is getting repaired that has all of my WKO+ files.  My LYC has a bike workout from this past Saturday that has not been downloaded yet.  (Normally I download the data into WKO+ after every workout.)  I thought my computer would be back by now but it is still getting repaired.  For my bike workout tomorrow, if I use my LYC, will it save the new workout data and still store the Saturday workout data?  Figure that I should not reset the LYC by "clearing" and instead only "find."   Will it sort itself out when I get my computer back and download to WKO+?  Or will I lose the Saturday data?  Thank you for the help!

  • You should be fine.  When you download into WKO, the box that pops up for you to double click on the workout will have both workouts listed by date.

  • What David said. Don't "Clear" the LYC and everything will download when you finally get the computer back.
  • Thank you David and Nemo.  I thought it would be okay but wanted to make sure before tomorrows workout.  Thank you for the peace of mind.

  • I was wondering about this too. How does it know to separate the two workouts? Will it be on big file? Does it automatically create a new file when it stops and restarts? Thanks for the info!
  • It "just knows" that the workouts are seperate. Like Nemo said, just do not clear the old workouts until you download. (Incidentally my motherboard fried recently. Moved 1300+ workouts from WKO+ 2.2 to WKO+ 3.0 perfectly. Came off the HD I removed and put in an external enclosure.)
  • I'll admit, I haven't figured out how it "knows" that the workout on the following day (or later in the same day) is a different workout. I assume it has some sort of threshold for the time gap (if the time gap between data is greater than X, then it's a seperate workout). But it will show up as two seperate workouts when you do the import into WKO.
  • So if I was to get on the trainer now, and start riding, it would start a new file. Would it also reset things like elapsed time and mileage to zero, so that when I look at the LYC it shows stats for the current workout? Or does it appear to be continuing the previous workout?
  • The LYC is not quite that smart. It will continue to show elapled time, mileage, etc as if it was one big workout. The "magic" of splitting the data into seperate workouts happens in the import to WKO process
  • Interesting. Thanks for the info!
