Pulling Selected Lap Data out of WKO+
Hi Power Gurus!
I feel so dumb, I’m sure there is an easy answer to this and I've spent way too much time on this already… can anyone enlighten me?
When I do my FTP test (Garmin 800, and PT) I capture the entire session. I hit “lap” after the warm-up, at the end of the first 20’, at the end of the 2’ recovery and at the end of the last 20’. Then I hit stop after a cool down for a total of about a 1:15 session.
When I bring it into WKO+ I can manually “highlight” the data I want (i.e. the 42’ in the middle) with my mouse to get and save as a range. To me this seems imprecise. I want to be able to just click on the three laps (20’, 2’ and 20’) and to be able to have that data summarized as a range in my journal so I can copy and paste the text.
I’m able to utilize the mouse selection method and an example what my data looks like is below. I titled it “FTP Test with Mouse”. And FWIW I can also do it by going to the “raw data” area and highlighting the applicable rows by elapsed time. The problem with this is the laps aren’t referenced in the rows. So I may think I started my test after a 27’ warm-up, but if I hit “lap” at 27:10, my data will still be imprecise. The three sections pasted further below are the laps I want to add together by clicking on the laps, rather than dragging the mouse across the graph.
My question is: Is there a way to select the desired laps to create a range in my journal and increase the precision of my data selection?
Thanks for any insight you can provide!

Hey Jen, try going to view then putting it in a horizontal graph. Then highlight the section of test until it gets to 42 minutes. Move your little slider bar on the right up with the ranges in it and it should be the first one called "selection" you can right click and rename to something like "my awesome FTP test". The laps you make don't matter you can always go back in WKO and play around with it.
You can use the eye on the second box left of the word interval, it should turn the range black vs grey. 42:03, v s 42 isn't going to make a bit of difference though is my guess. But I'mnot aware if there is a way to highlight interval 1,2,3 and be sure it gets every last second of the exact range I think everyone just highlights it with the house/touchpad.
Hey Guys!
Thanks much. I’ll take a deep breath and step away from the WKO+ menus!
* The 50% of me that was irritated that I couldn’t figure out how to do it is completely at peace. Seems it can’t be done.
* The other 50% of me that is irritated at the imprecision will get over it, I promise. Big picture I get that it doesn’t really matter.
Thanks again! Jenn “OCD” Edwards!
