WTB: PT SL wired uncoded Hr Strap

Looking for a Hr strap for the wired SL 2.2 CPU.  Lost the original Cyclops strap and can't find any other strap that will work.

Thanks

  • Dave, any gamin strap will work.
  • Thanks Mike,
Wish it were that easy. This is for my girlfriends PT. Between the two of us we have 4 Garmin straps and none of them will work with either of our PT LYC's. My LYC is from a PT Pro wired, 2004 vintage and her LYC will pick up my strap. Her original Cyclops strap would read on her LYC, but unfortunately she lost the strap. Cyclops has been no help at all with this problem, claiming any uncoded strap will work, but that simply is not true. Her LYC seems odd to me. We bought the package on ebay and her firmware in the LYC says it is an indoor cycle computer. We have tried to update the firmware through Cyclops website, but it shows as the most recent version for an indoor LYC. I'm not sure the ebay seller didn't send us a replacement or mixed it up with the original that came with the wheel. Cyclops wants about $150 for a another LYC/Strap combo. So, I'm just looking for an old strap spmeone might want to part with. Oddly enough a brand new Polar Tri coded strap worled for a few days but then quit. Its not the battery, we've been down that road.
  • Strange, there's no reason any Polar strap should work. doesn't use the same transmission protocol...

The cycleops straps I'm familiar with are identical to the gamin straps (same manufacturer, different logo), and I've switched from one to the other on my PT wired lyc vintage about 2008 or so without problems. Don't know much about the 2004 era.

    Anybody?
  • Dave, I'm about 99% sure I have an uncoded strap sitting in the parts bin. Shoot me your address by PM and I'll mail it out to you.

  • ;Mike: that read suspiciously like a thread hijack!

  • @Dave, ;-p

Just my own strange way of bumping the thread. Glad to see you can help out!
  • I use a Polar strap with my wired PT all the time with no problems.
