The 2011 IMAZ thread isn't up yet and the 2010 thread seems to be dead with no activity in the past few weeks so I am posting here.



I'm racing IMAZ for the first time in 2011.  All of the rental homes I've contacted are booked (it appears they usually have regulars that book it annually for IMs).  Any advice?  I'd prefer a rental home/condo as you have a bit more space and perhaps a garage, but may have to resort to a hotel.

    I've rented a condo/home for just about every vacation (IMs included) over 2-3 days.  I'm doing IMAZ too, and will be using it for the race, but not for a few more months. The Phoenix/Tempe area has PLENTY of housing.

    You can cook your own meals, set your own schedules, have a bunch of people come with and not worry about per person charges.

    Jeremy, Tempe is a small town so all places would be booked already.  Google map the area and look into Phoenix or Scottsdale.  You will have to drive a bit to get to the race venue, but the rates will be cheaper and there are plenty of places.  I bet you can find a places 2 or 3 miles away and get a great deal via VRBO or a hotel.

    send me the days you think we should do, I am thinking thursday - monday. how many in your party, and contact info. I will do a search and present some ideas. We could have a team EN clubhouse!!

    I'm open to that. My wife and I have talked making it an extended trip...Thurs - Wed probably. I've also got two non-EN friends doing the race, although I don't think they plan to stay as long after the race. I'll check with them. The only close (read Tempe) options I've found available are some condos which look decent enough and are only a mile or so from the race site. All homes available are a bit further away.
