The only social network I need
Steph and I killed our Facebook accounts - our own social media suicide pact. We did it together and while it's only been 2 weeks it feels great. The distraction and timesuck of Facebook was daunting.
I prefer Endurance Nation as my social network anyway. It provides me everything I need - and more. Especially hugs from Rich. Some days those are sooo nice.

Hope your recovery is going well. Will I see you as you roll through at ToC?
Yep, killed my official account months and moths ago. Haven't missed it at all. And like P, my wife gets "distracted" for a long time on FB.
Just established a new one around Thanksgiving under an alias cuz my 84 year old mother was giving me crap cuz I don't have a FB account so I can post pics of her grandson. My mom loves seeing updates from the family, I guess.
The alias is so (hopefully) no one can find me. I really am not interested in rekindling old friendships. I am fine with my 26 family "Friends."
Now Twitter . . . . . that's another story. :-)
Twitter is staying for @Soigneur. It generates sales for the business.
LinkedIn is staying but I don't spend anytime on it. It however got me a job - a really good job - via a recruiter searching for candidates.
@Carrie. No ToC this year because of the new job. I don't have 52 weeks of vacation time anymore and I have to use what time I have wisely. Recovery is going well - thanks.
Endurance Nation will benefit because now all the pictures I posted on Facebook will be posted here. While I'm not fully engaged in triathlon I'll still post about bike racing, solo double-centuries, 40 mile runs, cyclo-cross and anything else I can come up with.
I like the sounds of that.....let me know if I can help
Dan- gonna really miss you at TOC! Who is gonna keep Rich from killing us?
Nomads of sport: "Community of people who move from one sport to another, rather than settling permanently one."
I'm going to miss being at TOC as well. Maybe I'll fly out just to sit around the fire again. Best part of last years trip.
Even my teenage niece and nephews figured out it can take over your time and life if you let it.
I was wondering about your business. Good to hear it can still benefit from being "found".
I'm dropping back on FB more and more. I like the little funny touchstones with people, but it also gives me a headache.
You're keeping Soigneur up, right? There might be better ways to get to your core customers, but regular posting on FB can't hurt.
Killing Facebook was done for personal reasons and honestly the only people I really care about are here.
