Uniform Update

Hi Folks,

If you follow me on Facebook, you've seen that the cycling kit has arrived and has been gravity checked by yours truly. Yep, still works, and I've got the road rash, thrashed bibs, jersey and armwarmers to prove it. Second ride in the new kit...awesome.

Anyway, here's your update:

  • Cycling kit is in
  • Tri kit expected to ship to me about Jan 20
  • I expect that Joanne and I will start to mail everything out the first week of February, as we'll be out of town for about a week at the end of this month.

See pictures of the kit in my Facebook album, with some before and after shots . It's VERY nice, VERY sharp, and I'm VERY pissed that I ruined a pair of bibs. Grrrr

Reorders:

We've had many people join since we closed out this order, on October 31, and we expect to have more people join before Feb 28th, when PnI will likely close the team again. So we will begin to take reorders of items near the end of Feb, closing out the process on March 1st. We will reorder:

  • Men's and women's tri singlets: new members get a "mostly free" singlet: you pay $15 for shipping and handling
  • Men's cycling jersey's and bibs
  • M/W tri shorts, women's cycling jerseys: we'll take orders and will place orders with LG and Capo if we make the minimums. If we don't make the minimums we'll return your money.
  • If we put the orders in by early March, I expect we'll receive the kits by early/mid May.

Comments

  • Thanks for the update,. I was wondering what happened to the order.
  • Any pictures for those of us who don't use Facebook? :-)

Any pictures for those of us who don't use Facebook? :-)

So you're the one person on the planet not on Facebook, huh?

  • ;Pictures: sorry, I uploaded them here, tried to post them to this thread and no joy. Any help?

  • @ Bo - I'm the other person on the planet who refuses to use Facebook since their business model is based on sellling their client's information.

@ Rich - Glad you are OK...I would be pissed too. At least tell us what happened.
  • Sawiris and I were climbing Chantry Flats, the climb I've done 2-4x/wk since the dawn of time. Flipped and descending, actually not going as fast as we usually do because the road was a little wet and some sand. I washed out the front wheel in a left hand turn. I think I may have been on the front brake just a bit vs scrubbing speed before the turn (lesson learned, hope you're paying attention). I could tell it was gonna happen a split second before it did. Went down on my left side: knee, thigh, elbow. Head didn't hit and I slid for a while. I just went with it, relaxed, and waited for it to stop...felt like a long slide .

I think I can repair the bibs and armwarms, at least good enough to make due until we place the reorder. The left sleeve of the jersey is pretty jacked but I think I can cover it with an armwarmer . I'm pissed cuz I look VERY pro in the kit: shoes match, helmet mostly matches, was about to put on new white bar tape, gonna look for a red and white saddle, etc. But riding in patch up kit is most decidedly NOT pro so I've asked Socie for a temporary waiver.

Also, I ground the tips of the carbon hoods VERY tastily. Like someone took a long belt sander to the hoods.

  • But riding in patch up kit is most decidedly NOT pro

Unless you are Jens. You know you were just trying to emulate your hero :-)
  • @Rich, send me the pics to post or use the "add reply" button and upload the files then add to the post....
  • @ Rich - nasty crash, glad you were not seriously injured.

I would be interested in a jacket for the second order but need to know if it will fit first.

Could you possible get a sleeve length for the jacket? I ask because I have a significant gorrilla index of +6 and most clothing manufactures' products dont fit me well. I am looking for a standard arm length measured with arm raised, parallel to the ground, elbow bent 90*, wrist forward, palm down (like a tailer would do). Measure from the center of the spine, around the elbow to the jacket cuff.

Fitted shirts that work for me are 15 1/2" neck, 34 1/2" sleeve. I have a 41" chest and 32" waist if that helps.

    Thanks.
  • Steve,

See the first post in this thread. We're not ordering jackets, armwarmers and vests, only items that people will want for spring/summer training.

  • Sorry, guess I missed that....
