CompuTrainer and Power Meter Question

For with a CompuTrainer and a Power Meter, do you use a flat CompuTrainer course and use your power meter to ride at the prescribed watts? Or do you program a ERG workout and have to CompuTrainer dictate the watts?

Thanks!

  • I have been just turning it on,which is the same as a flat course, and using my SRM for power. I'll do the workout wacking to a Spinervals DVD or something like that. I don't watch the Computrainer screen or calibrate it for that matter much anymore.
  • I find it much easier to make the erg files and use the Computrainer because then I either hit the power numbers or I stop peddling.  I use Cycling Peaks ERG +2 to make the files — its really easy

  • Ooops

Just to clarify, I use the Computrainer for all intervals and my TT bike for the rest of the bike sessions.

  • I solely use the coaching software and program the EN workouts into erg files.
  • x2 on ERG. I program the workouts into Cycling Peaks ERG +2 for workouts Others use a website that will do this for you: http://63.134.234.143/tri/erg.asp

The only time I use the flat course is when I do the time tests.
