weekly weigh in 1/12/11

Peraps Gordon is out today... so I thought I'd get the ball rolling.

First, here's the link:  https://spreadsheets1.google.com/cc...wbYM#gid=0

(someone should tell me how to do it in words/ do it correctly, like Gordon does... anyway)...if you could fix it, thanks!

Hope everyone is doing well now that we're all in OS and getting back into the swing of things.  I'm down from last week but still up from where I wanted to start OS... such is life.  Had a lot of traveling, parties, then some personal stuff going on that created some road blocks... but I'm back at it and actually starting a cleanse tomorrow (shudder - I'm a bit nervous)

  • actually, I just cut and pasted the link and I see it doesn't include today's date (or any date past 1/5...). so, I think I should leave this to the experts?
because of all the data, do we want to do a new chart for 2011?
sorry... I'm not very technically savvy and don't want to mess it up!
  • I added the columns for today 1/12 so we should be good to go now.
Last Wednesday I had spiked up 2.4 pounds to 146.8, thanks to a couple of rare dinners out with my wife, plus a bowl of assorted cookies (Cookies! Assorted! An Entire Bowlful!) that Mom placed at my elbow. This week I managed to take all that back off, plus a bit more besides, down to a new low of 143.6. I don't like all this bouncing up and down, let's see if I can settle in at 143 for a while.
@Nemo, I spent some time over the holidays making a list of promising recipes from our many vegetarian cookbooks, grouped by protein source (tofu, beans/lentils, pasta, egg, fish, other) so we can mix up the protein sources a bit more and try some new recipes. I'll let you know if any turn out particularly tasty.
  • Oh man, I forgot! Is it Wednesday already?
  • Becky,

Thanks for getting this rolling I am on the road for work and moved west a time zone.  Also a little late this morning as well.  Being on the road I have no scale so will just pass this week by.

It was William that actually added the words.  I did not seem to be able to do it with the add link button when replying to a thread.  Perhaps he can comment but I never really took the time to figure it out.

Here's the usual link to the spreadsheet.

  • After a lot of up an down over the holidays at times being up 7 pounds seem to have hit stride with the diet. Down almost 5 pounds in the last 2 weeks (3.0 lbs this week). Back to where I started the OS. Look to kept that weight heading down.
  • I'm only down about .6 lbs since last wed. However the scale was lower earlier this week. You know how unpredictable it can be. I think I need to keep a closer watch on my daily calories. Just eating Paleo by itself may not be enough. I'm feeling leaner though!
  • Down 0.4 since last week. Nothing to write home about, but I hope it's real. :-)

Lean weight came out as same as last week, so that's good.
    151.2 total, 138.2 lean.

(BTW, if you use the "add reply" button, you can select whatever words you type and then click on the link button and post the URL to anyplace you like...then it shows up that way. You don't get that option on the "Quick Reply" on the bottom.)
  • Hi everyone: noob question. . .so how do I get in on this too? Do I post directly to the spreadsheet using the link to the Google doc? Or is there some other form to use?
  • Crazy weight loss since I started logging into LoseIt and just eating leaner cuts of meat. Down from 179 to 172 in about ten days. I'm actually working hard to eat enough.
  • Hi all! Mind if I join in here?

Greg, I just added myself to the spreadsheet. I assumed that's what we're supposed to do. Slightly traumatic to post my weight out there for all to see. But hopefully I will be posting progress each week, and eventually maybe I won't outweigh most of the guys here! :p
  • @ Carol - thanks, I just added myself too. Good luck reaching your goals!!
@ Elly - nice job on the 7lbs!
  • It's 10 days into my January-long cleanse, and I'm also down 7lbs like Elly. Exactly at 200 (goal is sub-195). Monday will be the true test (I usually weigh myself on M/F), as I usually creep back up on the weekends.
Don't know if it's the diet, the routine of workouts, or both - but I'll take it!

I guess this is what you get when you follow something 100% instead of half-ass like I was doing.

After January, I'll add back in one 'cheat' day, like Patrick and others, and see if I can still do it!
  • nice job, Scott!  I hope my cleanse results are so good!  I'm down about 4 since elmination phase kicked in, but still 10 from goal weight... I think the real test will be holding steady when the cleanse is done!

and welcome Greg and Carroll - yup, just add your name to the chart and update it weekly.  Gordon typically starts the weekly thread for us all to touch base.
