Suzanne- I really wanted to, but........ trying to get to the theatre was a challenge! I called to see if the would have another day of showing cause of the weather, NO, was the answer. It was not playing in downtown Baltimore
I came out of the hospital about 7 pm. A light snow mixed with sleety rain. I'm thinking, this not bad, I'll go to Columbia any way. Got on 95 south, EEK! The snow got real bad around the 695 exit, hard to see, people driving like idiots! So I turned around and came home
Bummer! I'm glad you didn't push on and instead made it home safely. Lucky for me the DC showing was in Chevy Chase, so it was totally drivable even in the snow.
I loved the movie! The theater was full of "our people": the sneakered, practical clothes-wearing types, and as we walked in we were "spammed" by Ragnar folks and other endurance relay runs, which I found totally delightful. There was this hysterically awkward live red carpet intro from Portland that had our theater roaring with laughter every time they forgot to turn a mic off or got a camera angle wrong. And then the four teams that the movie followed were really cool in their own ways. It was a good mix of funny and sad/meaningful stuff.
I also missed due to snow in WA. I will have to wait until the DVD comes out I have done the relays twice with my dear friends at work, and had great experiences. I was runner #2 in the second race, and it was just spectacular to see the beautiful scenary going down the steep hill to the Government camp.
I sent an email to the Hood to Coast folks to see if there are plans for another showing. Response from producer stating they will not let the film die, received lots of love, had tons of similar requests & will let me know of future plans for the movie. I hope they include the red carpet stuff, sounds hysterical! Would also love to be surrounded by "our people" Fingers crossed.
I will be in Chicago next week looking for something to do during the evenings. I just purchased a ticket @ the Roosevelt Collection on 150 W. Roosevelt Rd. Anyone else going to be there?
