Polar Power - pictures

I visited a bike exhibition yesterday, and saw the new Polar Powermeter at the Polar stand.

I took a few pictures, in case you wantted to see it (sorry about the quality - used my cellphone)

What I learned from talking to them was:

What they displayed at the stand was still a prototype, which they just had received for the purpose of the exhibition. Once they launch the product, the actual product might look different. The expected launch is set for summer 2011. The price is a lot higher that I would have expected. as I live in Denmark, it is not relevant to mention the pricetag here, but it is almost twich what I would have thought.. Not SRM prices, but not far off...

They didn't know many details about it..  For instance, they didn't know what accuracy it will have.

They could tell me that it will not be compatible with anything other than their own bikecomputers (not even their own HRM's). It will also be selvcalibrating.

My thoughts are that it looks small and smart and that it will be easy to move between different bikes.. But I find the pricetag to be way to high and the lack of compability is a definite minus. Their expected deliverytime in the summer sounds to me like it will not be ready for this season..

But, as they said, it is still a prototype and a lot of things can still change..
