Chicago Bears

Just thought I'd start a little friendly banter here, for Bears Fans, Seattle fans, and (most likely to play Da Bears next week,) Green Bay Packers' fans.  Monsters of the Midway are lookin' to rule!

  • Good game for da Bears yesterday!
  • Most definately! Look out Packers!
  • Go Bears!! This is going to be a painfuly tough one to watch. Both games have the real potential to be nail biters and I can't WAIT!!

    Is it Sunday yet??
  • Current Chicagoan, but attended undergrad an hour away from Green Bay. I am conflicted. Who should I cheer for?
  • You will save on manicures. No nail biter in Chicago. Packers romp.

  • UMMMMM
who won yesterday? I must of missed it.

Could it have been the GREEN BAY PACKERS!!!!!?????

Nice choice on giving up draft picks for Cutler. He looked like a keeper.
  • Ugh, that hurt. The positive is that despite him and poor play by our offensive line, we were still within distance of at least tying the game. Some better play calling during the final drive and not getting destracted by the officials not setting the play clock would have helped our situation.

    But, congratulations.
  • I feel bad for him. I've sprained an MCL and can't imagine being effective trying to pivot and throw. Running-yes, planting and trying to chuck a football-no. Not saying he was any good in that first half, but questioning his desire to play is poor form in my opinion. Plus I couldn't help but think that all those players that said you'd have to drag them off the field, are you that full of yourself that you think that you playing through a debilitating injury is better than letting someone else who is healthy come in to play?
  • I question the injury a bit. I've blown my knee and it required full reconstruction. Walking without a pronounce limp was out of the question. Yet he seemed to be walking and moving just fine. Mine was more serious than his, but I expected to see a limp of some kind and never did.

I question his passion for the game as much as his heart. Those have been the question marks surrounding since drafted and he did nothing to eliminate the nay-sayers.

Raw talent doesn't mean much when you don't really want to be there...and thats kinda how cutler looks. Sorta like me at my job...I'm only there because the check.
  • When I tore my ACL/MCL I had no limp. The instability was my only problem, and walking didn't really aggravate that (unless you are doing the walk made famous by the Monkees image and I avoided that!). Mine didn't start to hurt until about 6 hours after I injured it and then after the swelling went down it didn't hurt till I had surgery. It's just totally different than any other kind of injury to the knee. Any other knee injury I've had - stress fracture, bruising to the kneecap, even some bad tendonitis - caused pretty bad pain and limping. It's just kind of freakish with the ligaments. My n=1.

I agree with Eric on this one.  Other examples are Vince Young and even Mike Vick before going to jail.  These guys have mountains of talent and portray an entitlement attitude. It’s frustrating to watch.

The other thing that’s being questioned, and has been his whole tenure in Chicago, is his lack of leadership. The team is coming out in the media to support him because that’s what you do but it was pretty clear in their playing which of the 3 QB’s they support. They seemed to play harder, even the defense, when Heanie stepped on the field.
