Trainer Files and WKO Software

This power training is great.............but a little complicated. I loaded the trial editon of WKO onto my computer. I took a training file from my trainer and uploaded it - it looks like the upload worked. All sorts of graphs HR/Power/Cadence, however no TSS? Granted I am still trying to understand what TSS actually is, but as of right now it just shows a question mark next to TSS.

The file is an HRM formatted file? Might this be why TSS is not up loading?

I have a bike test coming up next week - week 8 of OS, and I would like to be able to use this WKO to set up my power settings, ( I used HR for the first test ).

Any help is greatly appreciated!!

  • Bill, you'll need your FTP set in WKO for TSS to caculate. The Intesity Factor (% of your FTP) is used in the calc.

All the calculates need power data, not HR.

  • So I would need to wait for my next test?

  • You can just estimate a functional threshold value for now if you like. If you have been playing with the power meter and wko you may have an educated guess as to your numbers. I'm assuming you are getting watts and all the other data, just not TSS right?

TSS and lots of other power info here http://home.trainingpeaks.com/power411.aspx #6.
  • I am getting watts - I also have been using an educated guess at my FTP. I am going to upload yesterday's ride onto WKO later today, play with it a little more. I'll be testing Monday, hopefully I can figure it out by then.

  • Just put in 400W as your FTP so that your training rides look pathetic and you try harder. :-)
  • BAZINGA!! (Dr. Sheldon Cooper, "The Big Bang Theory")
Seasons 1-3 on DVD = Great pain cave distraction for the tri-geek!
