License plates for your car, van, whatever
I recently bought a 2006 Pontiac Torrent, 37k miles and decided that, since my son and I are going to do IM WI 2011 that I would get some vanity plates for Illinois. I was able to get "IMWI 11". They were $50 more then normal and cant wait to get them and no special logo's, etc.

Here in NH it is rather normal to have vanity plates. I think we have the highest ratio of custom plates in the land. On our element we have ISOTOPE as the plate. Probably 1 in 10 get it, and of those 10%, 50% think I am a radiologist (and not just a nerd with a sense of humor).

When we moved to NC, the "Nemo" tag was taken. But I was able to get it by getting the affinity "Share the Road" tag and in the end, I like this option much better
PS- I've removed the plate holder since taking this photo. Got it at IMWI in the swag bag, but it just looks dumb.
I don't have vanity tags any more, but when I lived in Virginia I had "ski trax". I was offered free beer for life from a bar owner once for my tags. I didn't take him up on it
