New Member - Big Picture Season Question
Below is the outline of the plan that I received.
Question #1. Can you give me a brief description of the difference between the beginner and intermediate HIM plan? I am new to triathlons, but am not new to training plans. I have run 6 marathons and have taken them all quite seriously. I am not a fast runner, but am very diligent. I noticed in your description of the beginner vs. intermediate, it says that the beginner HIM is planning on finishing around 6:45. Not knowing for sure, I think I would be more around 6 hours, if not a little faster. But perhaps I am kidding myself. I am just not sure if I should be considering the intermediate plan. I don't really care about my time as much as the experience, but I also don't want to be out there longer than necessary.
Question # 2 and #3 is regarding the notes portion of the plan. In week 3-21-11 it says to load up 12 wk beginner HIM to End on White Lake. Does this mean that after I load up the plan, I start at week 7 of that plan? What should I be following from weeks 5-23-11 through Racine?
Question #4 - Did I post this question in the right place?
Thank you!
Keri

Since you've done plenty of marathons I'd start with the Intermediate OS. You can always drop down to the Beginner one if you find it necessary. As the wiki says, it's more about the ramp up in the build, eventually everyone is doing the same work.
Most people will start the in-season plan midway through the HIM/IM plan. See this wiki for how many weeks of an in-season plan you need: http://members.endurancenation.us/Resources/Wiki/tabid/108/Default.aspx?topic=When+To+Transition+from+OS+to+My+Training+Plan
As you'll see, the OS is really where the work happens, so the longer you can stay in it the better. The in-season plans are just adding the far on the fast
Welcome!
Thanks Brenda,
Thank you for responding and trying to help me out, but I am still confused. Who would have thought that navigating this site would be my biggest problem so far. I see where it says micro and macro and I get the difference, but I don't see where you post something new. I can only see where it says reply. What am I missing??? Sorry for such a lame question.
Keri,

Thank you,
I reposted in the macro thread. The reply was throwing me for a loop. I was looking for a new topic button.
