?solution for bike saddle slipping in bolts?

Hey just got an Adamo breakaway which I love, but it keeps sliding backwards by end of trainer ride. I have a Profile carbon Fast Forward seatpost, the kind with a dial tensioner at the back and a regular Allen bolt at front. I have tried using layers of electrical tape forward to the clamping point (which is all the way at back, I had to mount seat far forward to set proper angle) but the seat just laughs at the tape and bunches it up as it slides backwards. Anyone else ever have this problem, and if so what worked for you? Would love to hear some ideas. Thanks so much team! -Liebs #workWORKS

  • Jonathan, do you mean that the seat gradually slides along its rails, front to back?     If that's the case, I would replace the second "hand tightened" bolt on the ff seatpost with a regular hex bolt, get some blue loctite on the threads of both of the ff bolts, and tighten 'em down.  Unless the rails are not seating properly, I think it's just a case of getting that second bolt to the desired torque.

  • you may also want to rough up the seat rail - steel, right? - with a file across the place it is in contact with the clamp ... this might give it some catch.
  • I had the same problem on my orbea ora, I replaced the hardware that clamps to the rails. It worked fiine after that. Relatively cheap, I would start there and let us know how it turns out. Call profile, they have pretty good customer service.
