Another Reason to Hate the World Triath...errr...I Mean MicroSoft

Cruising along on the Computrainer this morning when all of sudden the I see my PC go black, and the load is dropped from the CT.  What the heck??? It then became immediately apparent that Windows decided for me that this was a good time to do a software update and auto-restart.  Way to go.  This must be the one subroutine in Windows where it doesn't ask "Are You Sure?"  No important data was lost, but I'd be more than annoyed if it happened during my ftp test.  Who's thinking at that place?

OK, thanks.  Just had to vent.

  • Click on the start button, in the bottom search bar type "windows update".  Click on it when it shows up under "Programs"(should be at the top).  On the left hand side under check for updates. Once there click the item bar that says "install updates automatically" a list will pop up just change it whatever else you want to use, so this doesn't happen again.

  • Thanks!  Figured there was a solution like that.  My Windows experience is limited though.  Mostly Mac's.
