night sweats?
Hey peeps!
Well, luckily I don't post in the MED forum often. Strange because I am a hypochondriac.
I have been having soaking night sweats lately especially after hard runs....started last week after the 4x1 mile run repeats that KICKED my #$$.
Went away a little then the night of my 3x1 mile repeats I woke up soaked!
I usually finish up training around 6ish and am in bed by 11:30/12ish.
Anyone?

hi,
night sweats can have a ton of causes ranging from benign to not so benign. two episodes so far and no prior history of night sweats? see if the trend continues and if so, wouldn't hurt to go see your doctor. definitely keep track of the episodes and what triggers them, in a journal if possible, since it can help the doctor zero in on a cause. also, try not running mile repeats one week and see what happens with the night sweats.
good luck!

For me, those were closely correlated with overtraining, together with sugar consumption out of control, disruption of sleep.......
Had it in two periods in the last 2 years.
Took the day off yesterday (like I should have!) and had no issues with it. My hunch is it is related to training. Going to see the doc today just to be sure...
Thanks again to everyone
Have your T levels checked for sure.
Still smart to get evaluated, but this helps make systemic or more serious causes less likely.
They are more common than you think, especially amongst athletes, but we don't complain like normal
People, so all we here about are the conditions that cause normal people to have night sweats.
I get them before every major race, like clockwork.

Actually, I can spell, but I am writing from a mobile device and it creates havoc with my writing flow.

Just got back from the Doc. He asked if all I drank was water..and other than coffee..that is ALL I drink and plenty of it. He said to make sure I replace electrolytes...could be that I just don't replace those things.
Truth be told, I am burning the candle at both ends and blow torching the middle. Working 60+ hours a week, ADV OS and sleeping 5-6 hours/night. I need to shut it down in the evening and focus on the recovery side of things.
Can't thank you all enough for posting and helping.
Now....where is that candle!!!
PS....can't thank you enough for the medical advice...I am a guitar teacher~if you ever have a question
Peace
