Pain on inside of leg

I have developed a pain on the inside of my leg.  Starts 3-4 inches below the groin, and goes down for maybe 4-6 inches.  it comes on after I have been running for a while.  I only feel it when I walk.  First got it last Thursday after my interval run.  Felt fine until I stopped after the last interval.  Could hardly walk the block home.  Fine on the bike on Saturday.  Felt OK Sunday, so I did my Sunday run.  Same thing - felt terrible after the last interval.  Went home and took some ibuprofen, put on some ice, and rested yesterday.  Felt fine today, so I did my Wednesday run today (moving things up because I can't get any workouts in this weekend).  Same thing - felt terrible after the last interval when I walked - but was able to jog back without pain - felt terrible when I stopped.  Stairs are almost impossible.  Any ideas?

    You're going to want to start working on this one so that tightness doesn't work it's way up into the hip. Pretty common are for tri-peeps between the bike and run.

    In particular, you're going to want to start loosening up the area by digging it all out. You can do this on your own at home with a foam roller. Follow up the massage work with stretching and you should be able to kick it in a few days. maintain that stretching as needed to keep it loose. Ice after 10-15 minutes. If you can't make any headway or prefer to see a pro, get in with a sports massage/ART person so that they can do it for you.

    If you do it yourself, target the adductors + inner hamstrings. They criss cross and work together back there so if one gets cranky the other isn't far behind. Here are two links with everything you'll need to get started.

    You'll also want to change up your training a bit to allow for healing. If you're limping in the workout and hurting after, cut down on the interval duration and number. If that doesn't help, cut out the intensity.
