Garmin 310XT - Bugger I broke my screen...
After Sunday's ride I accidentily dropped my 310XT on the marble floor - have done this before and been lucky, this time no such luck, landed on the top left corner of the screen and broke it. Now major cracks across the screen - can still read it ok and did my brick run with it after.
Question is have people been able to get theirs fixed when this has happened? If so can you let me know about what it cost? I am in Singapore so going to be a complete pain to send it off for repair - thinking probably just have to bite the bullet and get another one, especially as my first A race (Singapore 70.3) is now only 5 weeks away...

That being said for a variety of reasons, I am going on my 4th week without my 310 after sending it in for service!
Hate to hear that it is taking so long for those repairs. I was super-happy yesterday when I needed to get my 305 repaired. Fortunately, though, I live in the town right next to Olathe, KS (Garmin Headquarters). Called to get my RMA # and then just stopped by their service center. Took them 10 minutes and then gave me a replacement on the spot - it was a refurbished unit, but that was fine for me because mine was used by me anyway......
Since I live here, maybe I need to become the EN Garmin repair mule......
Now that could come in handy!!
Sorry to hear about this! I have heard a number of reports of this kind of break...and so has Garmin. So much so that I understand they've changed the design slightly to better protect the glass. I would suggest that you reach out directly to Garmin support, and explain your race schedule. They might agree to do a cross ship ( you give them a credit card number, they send you a replacement and you send them he broken one - all at the same time).
I'm thinking about doing a switch before I break mine (to get one of the new design) - one of the benefits of buying through REI , replace for any reason any time.

Hopefully Garmin support will come through soon - at least now I know I can threaten to send some "boys" over if they take to long :-)
