Outdoor Cycling in OS?

I was reading in the Wiki and saw reference to a document about how to add to your bike workouts if you live in a warm climate.  Couldn't find the document though, any help there?   With the weather getting better any tips for getting the OS type rides done outside?   I tried V02Max intervals a couple of Saturdays ago outside and found I had trouble staying in the right power zone with the slight changes in the grade of the road.  Also I don't have any hills long enough to do 20' @ TP.  What do you guys do?  Also, is it a good or bad idea to get into group rides where you have to go 150% every once in a while to not get dropped?

  • I have the same problem here in (flat) North Texas. I think the main point of the designed workouts is to get the TOTAL time in (ex, if 1x20 means 20 trips up a 1 minute hill, so be it. This is what I do a lot), but I also believe there's mental and physiological benefits to sustained efforts.
