Whining: to snivel or complain in a peevish, self-pitying way

So I have this wicked awesome schedule that has me xc ski camping, running 2 haf marys then Boston all during the final weeks of the OS...

Camping was great and had good weather and conditions but I missed 3 day of training before going cause I have trouble deciding what to bring and how to pack.  Then the trip is 5 day - all aerobic but not in a way that gets me to Boston.  When I get back I need 3 days to recover.   In the end I hadn't run in 12 days and it was 14 day before I got on my bike.   WAAAAA!

My first run is a long one - 18 miles.  HR way too high from the beginning and pace was slow.  Suffering started at mile 13.  2 days later I can hardly walk - felt like I did after my first marathon.   WAAAAAAA!

I realize most of the soreness is from downhills - too much treadmill running got me soft.

In my defense, I did manage to run 6.5 doing hill repeats Tuesday and then a 10 mile tempo run Wednesday.  But Thursday I tried to bike but it just sucked - I couldnt even get to 90% let alone do an interval..... all I could manage was 55 minutes at 80%....  more WAAAAA!

OK, I'm done for now.....Next?

  • Hey Steve-

I love whining. It definitely serves a purpose. This is a perfect thread and could actually work as comic relief. I hope you feel better now. All of your issues are so legit and would make me whine too!!

  • I am so ready for spring - I hate the LOUD NOISES my studded snow tires make - so, I took them off today. Still got a foot of snow in my dooryard but I'm done with the tires......
