First TT coming up... what to wear girlies?
Chicas! I need 'what to wear' advice please......
So, I have my first ever TT coming up soon. It's the Army Championships. 10 and 25 miler on a fairly flat course.
On my roadie, I did a 27min 10 miler just for fun on my own (down Santa Ana river for those who know it (!))
I can average 18-19mph on my TT bike on a course with hills, and generally can hold 23-25 on the flat. Never TT'd on my TT bike...
So, what do I wear for the TT??
Options - wear my regular Army cycling jersey and bib and my Giro helmet.
Or do I go all out and buy the Army skinsuit and get an aero lid? Will I gain anything or just look stupid?
Other option, wear my Army 2 piece Tri kit and get and aero lid?
What say the voices of experience and reason? I will probably do some more TTs in the future, and would like an aero lid for Antwerp 70.3 as it's flat as a pancake.

There has been some debate lately on the benefits of aero helmets. Not sure if it makes me faster, but I feel faster and is enough reason for me to wear it.
You might want to check into this rules for the tri kit. Some cycling races require you to have at least short-sleeved jerseys (no tanks) and if you're not part of a cycling team it might have to be a plain top (no logos).
For our local, fun TT's I wear my tri kit, aero helmet, and put the race wheels on (wheel cover in the rear and deep rims up front). For the more "legal" TT's, I have a cycling kit that I wear. The top is pretty skin-tight.
Have fun and beat em up!
