Could use the support of Da Haus
Howdy everyone!. I am looking to expand my resume from "triathlete" to "Triathlon Race Director". To that end, I am working with the base's MWR department to host a sprint Tri in the spring aboard Naval Air Station Whiting Field where I am currently stationed. This will be the first time in the long history of NASWF that such an event has been held here. We are hoping to have final go-ahead approval from the base CO by the end of this week or middle of next.
It would help us out a lot if you are a Facebook member to go to our Fan page and become a Fan. Once we hit a certain number of Fans, we get our own URL which makes it much easier to market. We are using our FB page as one of the prime marketing means, plus other more traditional outlets. Here is the link to our page: http://www.facebook.com/home.php?#/...288?ref=ts and if for some reason that doesn't pop up, just search for Tri 2 Fly in the search bar in FB to find the page.
If you have time and the inclination, it could help us out a great deal. Thanks! There are not too many of us in this area, but if you will be in the area for some strange reason and would like to race, contact me directly. I'm sure we can work out an EN friend discount for entry.
Thanks for helping out. And to those that have already friended the page, thanks!

Done, and best of luck! You'll have to keep us posted on the chronicles of race directing. If you haven't already read the RD series on slowtwitch, it's definitely worth a read.
Thanks Vince and Michael! Appreciate the help.
I'll definitely keep people posted. This is going to be an adventure, and (I hope) fun too! There are a lot of challenges, but we have some advantages with our logistics as well, being on a military base.
Here is a link to what will most likely be the run course: http://www.mapmyrun.com/run/united-...0760481347 and here is a link for what will likely be the bike course: http://www.mapmyrun.com/ride/united...0414557526. Use the satellite view to see a good look at the transition area and the course layout. I'm planning on making the course 16 miles on the bike with a "First Timer" division where the bike will be shortened to 12.43 miles (20k).
