HR drop

My bike bike training this off-season is HR based only...

I ahve noticed a significantly drop in HR over the last 4-6 weeks, meaning that I now struggle to get above FTP (179). This was previously fairly easy, but now I seem to really struggle to get it up there.. My Max is 201.

Anyone else experienced this...?  is it good or bad?  :-)

Nothing seem to have changed with the running HR's (although I mostly look at pace)

  • It depends. Is your heartrate dropping for the same output? This is good, it is a sign of adaption. If your heartrate is dropping and the output is dropping this can be a sign of fatigue, pending illness or potentially the dreaded overtraining.
