what is this

this was posted and I see it alot.

Just looking at today's ride -- 4x2.5s: 1.22, 1.23, 1.23, 1.24,

what are the numbers 1,22 , 1.23 etc , mean ?

Comments

  • @David, the numbers indicate that the rider did four individual intervals on for 2.5 minutes followed by 2.5 minutes off. The on intervals were done at 122% of FTP, 123% of FTP, 123% of FTP and 124% of FTP respectively.
  • Thanks Al,

So is this something that WKO does for you or do you do your own math ?

  • Some power meter programs (like power agent for PowerTap) will do it when an interval is selected, but WKO+ does not seem to have that built in.

  • Hummm. I have Power Agent and never saw that functuion, where is it ?
  • When the workout calls for 2.5 @120% FTP I just calculate the wattage numbers manually and then keep my eye on my Joule. Afterwards, I highlight and review each interval to determine how close I was to my projected wattage goal numbers.
  • @ David: When analyzing an activity, choose the "details" mode. On the graph, select the interval you want to analyze. Click on the "Work" tab below the graph; the last three items there will be TSS, IF, and your FTP. I think there is a minimum time, less than 60 seconds, needed for this function to work.

  • ok, got it , I'm looking at it so the IF is the value that others are posting e.g. 1.2 , 1.3 , etc ?

Yes; Intensity Factor = NP of interval divided by one's FTP. E.g., 1.2 = 120% of FTP
