Any experience with Osymetric chainrings? 7-10% wattage increase

The physics of it seem to make sense, but seems to good to be true.  Anyone have any experience with these, or better yet, any physics experts that could chime in on the claims?

  • I remember using those Shimano Biopace rings back in the '80's. Seems like a similar concept (and I'm not sure it made a difference back then).
  • @Jeremy coincidentally there was a post on ST about these rings. I was unable to read all of it but apparently the 7-10% is when measured with a SRM. Something to do with "tricking" the SRM. I guess the only way to check it is with a Powertap. Then I remember David Warden tested these, or maybe it was Q Rings, and they actually decreased his power at similar HRs IIRC.
  • I'd file this under too good to be true, but I am not an expert. image I'd put your money into more proven stuff (aero helmets, body position, wheels, etc) first...
