Powertap not downloading

Has anyone ever had a problem downloading a ride into WKO+ from your PT LYC?  I have never encountered a problem until this weekend.  Went on a long ride and really want the data but when I plug it into WKO it downloads 256 records and just stops.  It says it has no more data to download.  I find that hard to believe as I was out for around 5hrs.  I tried to download to Power Agent but to no avail.

Did I lose this data?  Any chance of saving?

  • Ugh, yeah I've had that problem and if I remember correctly the issue was a corrupted file which meant the data was lost. I had to do a "Clear ALL" to get it working again, but before you do- just give Saris a quick call and double check with them.

  • I've just finished working with Saris on a similar problem last night and they were able to get mine working.  I started another thread in the power and pace forum that I'll update with more information later today.  My problem was similar in that the download would just stop well before it had actually finished, typically after a few hundres records were transferred.  It did not stop at the exact same point, though, like it sounds like yours might be doing.

    I should have the details posted in a bit, but the short version was that I needed updated FTDI drivers for my Windows7 system.  Saris was awesome to work with and promised me a writeup of the exact procedure so that I could post it here.  They said they had a number of other customers with the same problem.   I should have that later today if you want to wait, or just contact them and I'm sure they can lead you through it in no time.

    I hope that it's something fixable; losing 5 hours would sure suck.

  • What say Saris Tucker? I have been without my power tap computer going on three weeks. The same thing happened to me and they said to find a bike shop that has an account with them and send it in. They would send a new one to me within 24 hours of receiving it. I am angry and frustrated. Was unable to do final bike test. crap.
  • I have not heard back from Saris yet Becky. Kind of pissed about that.

    On my Saturday ride I noticed "DATA" flashing occasionally at the bottom row of data on my LYC. No idea what that is. Sent Saris another email about that. I have also noticed that the display is very faint when first trying to pair it to the PT. Have never had an issue until recently but I want an answer like yesterday.
  • @Becky, hard reboot. Saris told me to take out the battery and leave it out overnight. I replaced the damn thing. Downloaded todays workout so guess it worked out. Hope this helps.
