IMCDA Race Updates from March Captain's Meeting
Hi Everyone!
Nothing too major from last week's race captain meeting in Coeur d'Alene...but here is what I have to pass along!
- The run course change is official (left out of transition and 1.05 miles further on CDA Lake Drive past the old turnaround on Bennett Bay Hill). The new directions are up on the race website, but the map isn't posted yet. (Apparently it's waiting to be updated on someone's desk in Colorado....)
- No Gatorade this year; IM Perform will be the only electrolyte drink served now. I feel like they said one specific flavor for the bike and another for the run, but I didn't write that down...I'll check with the race director to confirm.
- The banquet menu is changing! To what, we don't know yet, but it is changing. (They - the IMCDA crew and some local triathletes - did a tasting panel with the CDA Resort catering to come up with something different.)
- ART will be in transition by the Run Exit (they'll be at both the T1 and T2 transitions).
And one final note...in the next couple of weeks Ironman and Coeur d'Alene were going to sign the contract to extend the race for another five years until 2017 (the current contract runs out after next year's race). So, we should have IMCDA the fourth Sunday of June through 2017! Yippy skippy!
