  • I have started drinking one of these in the morning as a way to jump start a healthy fruit/veggie filled day...is this really a viable fruit and veggie substitute? Is this stuff really actually good for you? I know some drinks are just hype...but, I am not a health expert.

  • That stuff is so good that It can't be good for you.
  • It is roughly equivalent to drinking a glass of fortified orange juice. It doesn't have high fructose corn syrup or any of the other sweeteners, but it also does not have any of the fiber that the actual fruits and vegetables give you. Also, check your serving size. A serving is 8 oz, but I think that the smallest bottle is 12 oz, so it automatically give you 1.5 servings or 150-200 calories based on the flavor.

It doesn't seem to have any of the normal micro nutrients that you would want to get from fruits and veggies so I don't think that this is really a fruit/veggie substitute. But it is a relatively lower calorie sweet drink (between 100-150 cals vs 240 in a coke). If you really want to add fruits/veggies to your morning, you might try a fruit smoothie or adding cut up apples to your oatmeal.
  • But, it is still better than a lot of things, and not just a sugar drink...right?

    Thanks for the input!
  • It is better than soda because it isn't full of chemicals. But, it can be a lot of calories in a small space.
