Coach Patrick and Coach Rich Need Your Help!
Hi All:
I am the new Race Diretor for EN this year. We are looking for someone to help RandP at IMLP as Race Captain (and an Asst. Race Captain). The role is pretty simple and the end goal is to help RandP create a top notch event for the TeamEN racing IMLP. I have pasted the the role overview below (formatting is a little screwy, sorry) for your viewing pleasure.
Also, we are looking for someone who would like to be the official photographer and also a videographer at the team dinner and around the race venue during race week.
If you are interested in helping, PM me, send me an email via the link in my sig or give me a call at 925-548-5916.
Thanks.
John

Hello!
Thanks for your interest in being a Race Captain (or Assistant Race Captain) for an upcoming Endurance Nation event. We are excited to have you on board and helping bring a quality race week experience to you and your fellow teammates.
The position of Race Captain is very simple: You are the person your teammates will come to for questions about what is going on during race week, where and when TeamEN will meet-up, etc. With the help of the Race Director (John Stark -- ENRaceDirector@Gmail.com), you will have most of these questions answered before you and your teammates even get to the race venue.
Below is an overview of your position and some things that need to be done. However, if you have ideas you would like to add to enhance the race week experience for you and your teammates while still getting the items below done, please tell us (ENRaceDirector@Gmail.com)! We LOVE new ideas!
Race Captain Overview:
There are three (3) areas for this position – Pre-Race Roundup, Team Dinner, and Post-Race High-Fives.
1: Pre-Race Roundup (Starts 3 to 4 Months Out, Finishes 2 Weeks Out)
Estimated Time: 3 Hours (over several weeks)
In short, simply identify who is racing at your event and getting them to fill-out the Team Information Form (http://bit.ly/fdiYdR) letting us know who they are, arrival dates, where they are staying, contact info and the like. This can all be communicated via your Group in the EN Group Forum area specific to your race.
With the help of the Race Director and others in your race Group, identify a team dinner location that will occur two nights before your race.
You will also identify a couple of teammates to help with taking some video and photo’s during the week.
Lastly, about two weeks before the event, you will post in your race Group (as well as email) the “Here’s How We Are Gonna Roll” document that gives details about dinner location, meet-up locations, how we will communicate, etc. All info. can be pulled from the Team Information Form.
2: Team Dinner – Assisting The Coaches (Plan on being 30’ early, leaving 30’ later)
Estimated Time: 2 Hours
Along with the coaches, there are a couple of things that need to happen at/for the Team dinner. They are:
-
Bring name tags and Sharpie markers (at least 2)
-
Hand-out weekend activities document – What was emailed and posted prior to race week. It will include:
-
Communication channel(s) (Currently Beluga)
-
Coaches bike and run spectating locations (Any changes updated via communications channel)
-
Post race meet up location (Any changes updated via communications channel)
-
Day after breakfast/coffee location (Any changes updated via communications channel)
-
Video introductions, including S.O.'s by previously identified Videographer
-
Team Pic by previously identified photographer
-
Kid/Family pics by previously identified photographer
-
Where to upload pics and videos within a week after the race.
-
3: Post-Race High-Fives (within 7 days after event)
Estimated Time: 2 Hours
Using the Race Report template document provided to you by the Race Director, email it to your teammates and follow-up (nudge!) them to complete AND post in the Race/Training Reports Forum on the EN web site.
You will also follow-up and be sure your teammates have posted their data in the Data Tool.
And lastly, have a 15 minute phone conversation with the Race Director (John Stark -- ENRaceDirector@Gmail.com). This is a debrief where you can share what worked, what didn’t and what we can do better next time to make the experience even better for the next Race Captain as well as your follow teammates.
That’s it! Nothing to it! Any other questions can simply be posted in the Race Director Lounge here http://bit.ly/gSdt1V, or be emailed to the Race Director, John Stark, at ENRaceDirector@Gmail.com or via his mobile at (925) 548-5916.
Thanks so much and happy training!
