Saturday Ride 4/23
Had a bad window of time today with easter and all. Had to be home by noon. Got up a little after 4 when my son woke my up scared cause the wind and rain was so loud. Never a good sign. At 8 it is was 36 degrees and pouring. Trainer was the only way. Kinda morning that makes you feel good about the trainer, well almost.
Got all the work done as 25 minutes at .75 warming up, then 20-12-12 then the 4x10 at .85. Managed to hold the intervals better than I have been lately. All the intervals were in the bars. Need to get my "aero neck" dealt with asap. One of the 12's was at 325. That was nice. Total was 2:15 at .86. Figure that is pretty much a half iron race day effort, not bad for the basement.
Ran 10k with 3 in the middle at MP. Legs were pretty trashed after.
How was yours?

25' @ 60%
20', 12', 12' @ 95-100% (232 - 242)
4 x 10' @ 85-90%
60' @ 82%
Total was ~60 miles in 3:30. It takes me a fair bit of admin to get out of town where you can really ride uninterrupted, so my in town rides are always a little slow. My neck felt 110% better than last week, but still not that great. Also unlike last week, my legs felt good enough to get the brick done. Didn't think i'd be able to hit z2, but surprised myself. z1 for me is 8:37, and I had to work pretty hard to keep from going too fast. Did the first 15 @ ~8:15 then dropped it down to z2 and knocked out ~12' @ 7:05ish, so :10 under my z2 target. Definitely felt like I could have kept going at that pace for quite a bit longer, so fitness must be better than I might have thought.
How 'bout the rest of y'all?
You don't! She's four and has a broken arm...the drainer will still be there tomorrow, but blink and your little girl will be heading off to college!
Sick Saturday so no ride. Sunday, did about an hour and a half in the rain and 40 degrees and then quit when shivering too much. I think it took another hour getting the crud off the bike. It looks like back to the trainer for the test tomorrow because of more rain every day this week. Maybe May 1st wil trigger the better weather mantra.
Started Saturdays ride in the rain, wind and 42 degrees. Lasted only 90 minutes, 30 miles before the pain in the hands and feet were just to much to handle. Got a 3 1/2 hour ride in on Sunday very early before the Easter festivities began.
This weeks weather here in NH will be a little warmer but rain showers forcasted every day. Next Saturday looks good for the Big Tri Day, so happy about that.
