Louis Garneau Tri Kit Sizing

I read the thread already about the Louis Garneau stuff being true to size and used Rich's notes to figure out which size top to buy but I'm stuck on the shorts. I am 6'6" I am a 33" waist and a 39" hip which puts me right in the middle of Small and Medium on the Louis Garneau Sizing chart.  Just looking for some advice on whether I should buy a Small or Medium short?

  • @Steve, I would suggest the size. I have a large, I'm 6'2" with a 35" waist, maybe smaller who really knows, and I have a little room. One thing I will caution for you being so tall, and I assume you have long legs, is that the shorts are gonna look like a European man-kini on you. I found mine to be shorter than all of my other tri and bike shorts. Maybe I'm wrong, but I wore them yesterday and was showing a lot of extra leg that I am gonna need to get tanned up before my IM!
  •  Thx for the advice Tucker

    "European man-kini" hahaha that's hilarious

  • The smalls are really teeny tiny.  I'm 5'11" 165lb 32/33 waist, bigger thighs.

I bought a small & ended up returning them.  The fabric is really really stretchy, so they would have worked, but they were super short & my quads barely fit in the legband.  I'd suggest a M for you.

  • I'm 6'2 with a 34" waist and went with a M. Tucker is dead-on with the Euro Man-kinni. I was shocked at how short they were. I definitely will need to do some "Tanning" before racing in them.
  • @Steve,

Honestly, if you are 6'6" I'd suggest just passing on the EN tri shorts all together and just sticking with a pair of black, red, black/red in whatever your favorite tri shorts are.

I'm 6'0 with a 31-32ish waist and I got the size S and they are sitting in a bag with the tag on (I need to sell them off at some point). I've tried them on and they are just too damn short. At another half a foot taller than me, these things are going to be about the same length as a speedo on you.
  • I had mine on today and my wife started laughing. Told me they were "revealing". Listen to Trevor. This must be what happens when the "short" coach picks the gear.
