Good/bad time for a massage?

 I have my first race of the year in 2 weeks...American TTT (Sprint, 2 Olys, and HIM over three days)

Is there an ideal time pre-race to get a massage?  I'd imagine if you do it too close the muscles haven't had time to sort themselves out, but too far away and the benefit may be limited from some of the taper workouts.

  • Hi Jeremy, I, too am heading down to TTT in Ohio. I am getting a massage tomorrow. Any time this week I find is good or even early next week. Depends how hard your massage therapist is on you! I usually have some residual pain for a couple of days. So even if you go Monday or Tuesday next week, you should be fine.
