VDOT Test #1
Good morning all! I guess we are supposed to starting moving to the cool new Groups.
I officially started the OS training today. I decided to skip the FT test on Monday since I was coming off my LC DU on Sunday. So for the first round I will use my old FT numbers, which are probably still pretty accurate.
Feeling pretty good today, so I decided to give the vDOT test a shot. The end result (23:26) wasn't what I was shooting for but the numbers don't lie. After a 1.5 mile mis-start (hit the wrong button on the Garmin in the dark and rain) I was able to post the following numbers:
I am now looking forward to the pain of the next 8 weeks and see where the numbers fall then.
Good luck to everyone!
Pete

I need 8 weeks of pain as well. My vdot test did not go so well. The garmin lasted about ten minutes. I had to go off my watch. Once I get the bugs worked out and get eight weeks under my belt I'm sure it will be better. Vdot 36 Pace 8:28
Hope the rest of the group is more successful...
I'm a new member and finished my run test this morning. I've been doing triathlons on and off since '87, with my most recent training program being the long slow variety. It got me into the best shape of my life so far but took too much time and I burned out. Two years later I'm back giving the EN way a go and see how fast short and fast can get me!
I don't have a PT yet (waiting for 2010 pricing) so I had to do my bike test by heart rate:
Bike FTHR: 169
My run wasn't bad for a hilly 75 degrees with 97% humidity:
Run VDOT: 47.4
Looking forward to training with the Team!

Nice job on the VDOT test today, I'm glad there's others in the house of pain - I posted my test info on the forum pages instead of this thread so I'll give you the short version. Did my W/M then I ran all out for the next 5K and my splits were the following: 7:22 mile 1, 7:40 mile 2 and 8:50 for the last 1.1 - need to mark the the 3 mile point so I can really push the last .1k. I could feel the pain the last 1.1 miles but I guess this is what they call work - doesn't this equal speed. All in all my VDOT was 40.3 with a LTHR of 174.
Bike FTHR was 163
Looking forward to the next few weeks and training with the team.

I know it's sick and wrong but I'm so glad we're underway...as I was walking up the stairs at work yesterday I felt a familiar weight and a hint of soreness in my legs. Ahhh, I remember now! This is what it feels like to work.
For me FTP and vDOT tests went pretty much as expected given my injury/recovery over the summer. For those who are new to the haus, on 5/1/09 I had an accident-no bikes or cars involved, just me. Fell on my face, broke my jaw in 3 places, had 9 hours of surgery, and spend a month on my couch. Didn't train at all during the summer. Really itchin' to get underway with all of you guys! Anyhoo, I knew the numbers would fall where they would and (can I say it again?) just so glad we're on!
FTP ended up at 175, vDot at 42
We already have a rest day tomorrow.
