Bike test today but rain all week! Any suggestions?

Well, it is pouring again in CT. Have the Final Bike Test today to round out my Jan Outseason. Bummer. I have 2 weeks of transition planned after this week.

I thought I would just do 2x20 today indoor and get a good indoor FTP and then early next week, do 1 more bike ride/test outside to get my outdoor FTP then get back to resting.

Any thoughts?

Thanks!!!

  • Jeremiah,

Are you planning a 1 or 2 week transition?  If two then I 'd say head out and go for an additional test next week.  If you are only taking 1 week transition then I would push the test to week 1 of the new plan.  Take the down time and don't add in a lot of extra stuff.  You might also find a good boost in FTP after the rest.

  • It looks like there might be a break in the rain over the weekend. Can you move the test to Sunday?
  • Thanks guys!
@Gordon. JUst what I was thinking, I am taking a 2 week transition.

@Mike. Man, I feel kinda like a bonehead...Weather Channel called for thunderstorms and as I sit here, I realize if I went out when I posted, I would have been fine! Moving to Sunday might be tough for me as I have that "see what you can do" half mary planned...what do you think about like next Tuesday and back to rest?
  • JC, I'd think you'd be pretty fatigued after the HM on Sunday. Take your 2 weeks transition, and bang out a test on the first Tuesday back.
  • @Mike Good points...thanks much...I will do that if I can't get it done today. Looks gloomy but yesterday's false alarm has me scheduled for early afternoon....want to get this done!

    Thanks again
  • JC, just checked the weather report in South Windsor, things are looking good for you to have a go tonight. Good luck, and rip it up!
  • Mike. Thanks for looking at the weather! That was so cool of you, really thanks. Well, I went out and did it. I have been chasing my 09 IMLP watts all OS. Been killing me...my highest FTP was 281 in 09. Yesterday was 282. Ha! that 1 watt might as well been 100 watts.

Thanks for the support bud, looking forward to returning the favor.

  • Dude, that's awesome! Congrats. Really happy for you.
  • Jeremaih - Way to rock the test!!!
  • Great Job Jeremiah! Every single watt counts.
  • WOW!!! Thanks so much for the encouragement! You guys rock-means a lot...I would have paid big $$ for that 1 watt!! image
