The Official Ironnman Texas Race Tracking Thread

The race tracker is now online here:  http://www.endurancenation.us/en_da.../2011/IMTX

Last I have heard is that they are making a race day decision whether to allow wet suits or not.  Today was mid-80's, light rain and overcast.

  • Very exciting!!! Looking forward to seeing the team dominate!
  • Whew, WTC temperature cut-off (new) is 76.1. A lot of people must be praying for Thursday's water temperature to drop another degree. Looking forward to tracking EN progress on this. Good luck team!
  • Expected 76 degrees in the morning and 89 in the afternoon.  Humidity relatively high.  A chance of thunder showers.  The should help cool things down a bit.

For those not following on Work Works Facebook page, here are some of the latest pics:

Penny Wilson with Chris Lieto's uber-cool wife, Karis.

The swim start.  Lotsa chatter on GroupMe this morning from IM Texas swim start practice swim. Non-resident comment, "You can swim in this humidity!" Texas resident comment, "It's 79 degrees, where's my sweater." Looks like an interesting race in Woodlands.

Coach Patrick and TeamEN at the 4 Key talk this morning.

Original EN Chica, Marianne Park, loonking mah-velous.

  • So, who do we have racing? I liked how you profiled the racers from the last one. Good luck everyone!!!
  • Are we going to have the usual Nemo race tracker/stalking tool up, even tho Nemo is at ToC?
  • @Scott:  Doen't look like it, unless you wanna be the stalker this time?  The race tracker link is also below.

Also, I am off to a Cub Scout campout this weekend so I will be (mostly) offline until Sunday afternoon.  No cell service at Lake Del Valle.

Lastly, more GroupMe banter from IM TX: Coach Patrick asked, "Does anyone know where mile 18 is yet?" He gets a response back from Neil MacDonald, "@CoachP: straight ahead, in 132.4 miles of patience and discipline..." :-)

  • Hey everyone. The EN crew is all checked in and everyone is doing great waiting for tomorrow. Stay tuned tomorrow, should be a great race!
  • @Scott - voting for you to take the lead in Nemo's absence on the stalker - that's what veteran members are for.....
  • @JT, any other time I'd actually be down in person stalking them - esp since the race is only 3 hours from me, but I am actually going to be here in Dallas at a Jimmy Buffett concert drinking my weight in cheap Buffett-owned beer, Land Shark.
  • Tom Glynn is off the bike and flying! Way to go, team EN!
  • Bob, David, Tim, Jeff, Gary, and Shawn are all off the bike, and smokin' out there!
  • Ay caramba, Tom's bike splits are incredible!!
  • Wow Tom had a 5:01 bike split - FAST!

John S - Thanks for pulling this together - the pics are a nice plus!!
