Running in Vegas

Going to Vegas Monday thru Friday next week.  Staying at Mandalay Bay.  Anybody know some decent running routes definitely don't need huge volumme just looking for some exercise before I sit by the pool all day and read.

  • The strip is a great place to run early morning. You do have a few interruptions going up and down escalators, etc. If you've got a car my favorite places out of town are Red Rock Canyon, and Lake Mead South shore. Red Rock Canyon is directly west of the strip, take Charleston all the way out west about 15 miles. Lake Mead is a little trickier out around Henderson and through Boulder City. Past Boulder City you will see Hacienda Casino, just before that there's a rail trail that goes out to overlook Hoover Dam. It's pretty flat and goes through some tunnels.

    Have a great trip!
  •  Strip is a good spot early. UNLV has accessible track all day for running fast if you wish.

  • I'm always amazed at all the runners in Vegas. Shouldn't be a problem.
  • As others have said, the strip is good. There is also a road that runs behind a lot of the hotels behind Paris and the ones on that side. You could run down the strip then back on that road to avoid all the lights.
