HIM as RR?

This weekend I'm supposed to do a RR (the first)..but it falls on the same weekend as a HIM (my first HIM..EN style)....

Can I do the HIM as the RR....or do I reschedule the RR to the following week?

Comments

  • I have my opinions but I'll let RorP weigh in on the topic first.
  • A RR for an IM or a HIM? If it's a HIM it should be fine. But, if it's for a IM then you will want to do a real rehearsal since IM and HIM have different executions, i.e. FTP%, pace, nutrition needs, time on course, etc.
  • An an HIM is a very poor IM race rehearsal.

    • If this is your first RR, just race the HIM as a race, not as an RR. See the "Self-Coaching Guide" in the wiki for help with integrating this race into your plan.
    • If the RR is your second, recommend you skip the race and do the RR instead.
  • So HIM done this weekend as race

The missed RR is for an IM... when would be a good time to do this now... Should I just incorpoarte it into the plan sometime next week?
  • Was this the 1st RR that was skipped? If yes, then do it this coming weekend...or next weekend, doesn't really matter too much. Your priority is to recover quickly from your race and get back on track with the training plan.
