Ironman study- volunteers needed
Given to me by a friend of a friend. Since I haven't completed an IM within a year, I thought I'd hit y'all up...
The short version: seeking non-professional Ironman distance finishers from 2010, 2011 to answer a packet of questions for research project--
Long version: I am now 3 years into my Ph.D program and I have the opportunity to do some research with my favorite population—triathletes! I am looking to add to the essentially non-existent information about non-professional adult athletes by starting to build a profile of some underlying characteristics of adults attracted to long distance events, as well as some information about the ways adults cope with all that goes on in such a long race.
This initial foray into the research world is 54 questions long---all fill-in-the-blank with a check or a number, or circle a number—no essays required! There is also a consent form and a brief demographic page. Test runs show that the whole thing takes about 20 minutes total.
If you have completed an Ironman distance race in the past year and would be willing to fill this packet out, please let me know. I will get everything to you, including a stamped, addressed envelope to pop in the mail back to me when you are done.
her e-mail is: spsotir@comcast.net,
just drop her an e-mail with your snail mail address and she will send you the packet.
