Where are you staying?

I stayed at Galt last year and it was OK.  Only drawback was elevator back up and having to pay for parking.  It looks like there really isn't a bad place to stay everything is so close.  Looking for a 2 bed , maybe a suite, convenient, parking, fridge and microwave or kitchenette.  Any suggestions or recomendations?

Thanks Tim,

  • Staying at Add-More RV Park in Clarksville, IN with my BW/Coach/Nutritionist and our goldendoodle in our home-away-from-home. Then, it's just a 15 minute drive (we tow our Jeep) and we're there. Of course, parking near the race site is likely to be some hassle, but we're all fit enough to walk a little distance!
  • I'll be ensconsed @ The Galt. Hopefully on a lower floor!

  • Reservations made Springhill Inn by Marriot on Jefferson.
  • Hoping to stay at Galt House for the race. I stayed at The Brown Hotel last year, and it is very nice. If you want to stay away from all the race hub-bub, I highly recommend it. I just want to be closer to transition this year.
  • @Barbara. Do you need a car rental for the Galt?
  • Jeremiah, are you asking about needing a car from the Galt to transition? My answer would be no. You can bike to/from transition area. Unless you plan to be going all around Louisville, most everything for the IM takes place downtown, around and on Fourth Street Live. Restaurants etc, are all there, and the banquet the night before, is within walking distance, at the Convention Center. Also, there is a trolley that is free, which you can catch to take you around the downtown area, if you want to save your legs/feet. Just know that it will most likely be steaming hot, so if you're walking, you will get hot. Now, if you plan to go to see some tourist places, such as Churchill Downs, you definately need a car to get there. However, you will run past it in the marathon portion of IM! image
  • My family and friends are all going to be at the Galt. We will have to see if we can get all of EN on the bottom floors.
