Eyeball windtunnel: Ti add-ons
I'm thinking of building a few prototypes of add-ons for my tiphoon. One would be an elongated bento box-type thingie, the other, a fairing at the tt/dt/ht intersection. These would be used for "storage." Like the Draft box, p4 bottle, and Speed Concept cucumber are used for "storage."
(not my bike - pulled this pic from ST - but this is essentially what you'd get.)

Being a lightweight, I would be worried about having two fairings right at the headtube and not much else in the center/rear of the bike. I could see a huge cross wind gust not being fun with that setup. Just a wild ass guess though as they may not catch the wind at all. THe other question would be what yaw angles does this help at vs hurt.
On a side note, I'm all for continued technology/product development but if there continue to be more and more "storage" add ones I'm sure that at some point WTC or USAT will have to put rule in place, otherwise some dude is going to show up to Kona with the full front triangle filled and get lifted right off the road in Hawi.
The rider of that bike either has a very good chiropracgtor, or incredibly long upper arms?
Aero to me should follow the 80/20 rule - 80% of the surface area the wind has to deal with is the rider, not the bike. So 80% (or all) or our attention shojuld go into making the rider more aero - clothing (like shoes, suit, helmet), position (frontal more than lateral), and size/surface area.
