Liberty HIM--June 11
Main points-
1. Decided to go with infinit..it arrived 2 days before the race..called the company, got the details of how it works..rolled the dice..worked fantastic..
2. if you think you are going to slow on the bike, prove it on the run
3. a good bike does not exist .....without a good run
4. Pick from the low hanging fruit on the time tree
those are my main thoughts and issue of the day..
Swim- nice lake, focused on form, swim buoy to buoy..the shortest distance possible...i actually touch every buoy.... enjoy the scenery of the shoreline when breathing, relax..the nicest time of the day..did 36 minutes....nice and relaxed..came out of the water with my legs under me..kind of nice
T1--better this time, and will improve..low hanging fruit--
bike--stayed in my zones...people passed me early on..i passed others in the last 15 miles..nutrition was infinit and water..about a 2 to 1 ratio..worked great..consistant ride..legs felt strong coming off...stayed within myself..time 2:50
run--started at 8 min with a bathroom break..dropped to 7:30 to 7:45 for miles 2-10...bumped to 8 minutes and last mile was 9+..but i walked a steep incline so i could have a strong kick if i needed it..figured the seconds and energy lost walking the hill at that point could be made up on the run over the last mile...alternated water, infinit at the water stations...time 1:46
total time 5:18...nice hilly course on the run and bike..good prep for IMOO
finished strong..totally happy with all areas...can work on the transitions..taking days off till my body comes back..next up IMOO...

Nice race. You know you've paced well on the bike when you start running past the people that rode past you.
