new cyclsops fluid 2 trainer vs Nashbar trainer
My son and I are traing for IMOO in september. My son, Michael P, is doing a summer gig in philadelphia and we live in Illinois. so i bought him a Cycleops Fluid 2 trainer because I needed the Nashbar one for my training, also the special going on the Cycleops was $75 cheaper.
More to the point, when either of us us the Cycleops, it is definitely alot harder to push; i called Cycleops and they said its a feature of the trainer; hence a reason they can gurantee a 15% improvement because its set 20% higher then a normal trainer.
Anyone else experiance this same kind of dramatic change? Also, does it matter?
If I am doing 150 watts, should that not be 150 (or near) watts on the Cycleops? It sure does not feel that way, We both have to definitely gear down at least 1 sometimes 2 gears from what we use to do.
Please I am in real need of your comments. thanks.

I'm certainly not an expert but are both trainers 'fluid'? I have found that fluid trainers can be a bit more difficult and have heard that the fluid may provide more variability in the resistance that it provides. I have and ride the Cyclopos Fluid 2 as well but don't have anything to compare it to on a regular basis as this is the only trainer I ride.
Fluid, is supposed to mimic the outdoors where it gets harder to go faster as you get faster due to the wind. If the Nashbar is static resistance vs. Fluid, that might explain the difference.
