bike/run test
I got to do my bike/run LTHR tests this week. I don't have a power meter so did the HR test. However when i try to enter it into the data tool for the bike, it asks me for distance and pace which is not relevant. It wants these fields? how do it deal with that?
For the run it wants the VDOT field as well. i thought it would calculate that.
suggestions on entry in data tool?
thanks

I'm new to EN too. However, if I'm not mistaken. Enter the values you have and then click submit. I believe it will then caluculate your VDOT for the run and assoiated HR zones 1-5. I did the same for the bike LTHR and it also calculated my bike HR training zones. I didn't have the power meter at the time of the initial bike test so I had to settle for HR zones which has worked fine. Now, with a power meter I use both my average watts and HR for the prescribed intervals. I'm a big fan of the power meter and would recommend it to anyone if their budget allows it.

For the bike, it won't let me submit without putting my distance and also pace i believe. since it's done on the trainer, there is no mileage. I feel stupid, but I've tried submitting several times and it won't take.
for the run, i thought it would calculate your VDOT but for some reason it asks for that also.
thoughts on the bike??
Mary- I don't know if this is because you are training by HR vs Power or not. I did my FTT last year on the trainer and don't recall having that trouble- but I'm using a PM. I'd suggest posting your Q over in the 4.0 forum under "Admin" or whatever it's called so you get a bigger audience on your Q.
Thanks I will post there if I can find the thread. It is bec/ i am doing HR. i would have the other info if i had a power meter.
thanks
