Qs on Intervals on non flat terrain (hilly)
ok, i am really confused on how to interpret power on the hilly rides i do. a recent phone conversation with a knowledgeable member of the haus has me confused. if i understood correctly, the goal is to ride our zone watts consistently in a particular effort. If i understood correclty, the goal is to smooth out the hills. EG, dont hammer the ups, just ride at your target watts, even if slower than what you can achieve by pushing, and on the down hill, spin hard to keep the watts up.
My intuition tells me to push the uphill as hard as i can to achieve a higher average watts & a higher TSS (still confused on TSS & IF also!) which if i get it right will result in a higher IF. this seems counter to what this individual preached.
